ITINERARY

Day 1: Puno – Copacabana – Isla del Sol (Southern Part)

1. Depart Puno for Copacabana
We will depart early by road towards the Bolivian border. After completing immigration procedures, we will continue to the town of Copacabana, an important spiritual center on the shores of the lake. The journey offers stunning landscapes of the Altiplano and views of Lake Titicaca.

2. Visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Copacabana
Once in Copacabana, we will visit the famous Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana, patron saint of Bolivia, renowned for its devotion and colonial architecture.

3. Typical Lunch in Copacabana
We will enjoy an Andean lunch with local products, highlighting fresh lake trout.

4. We will take a boat to the Island of the Sun, the cradle of the Inca civilization according to legend. Upon arrival, we will explore the archaeological remains of the Pilkokaina Temple, an ancient Inca residence.

Spiritual Walk to Yumani and the Inca Steps
We will climb the ancient Inca steps that lead to the Fountain of Eternal Youth, a sacred place that still preserves ancestral energy.

5. Dinner and overnight stay in a local lodging

Day 2: Isla de la Luna – Copacabana – Return to Puno

2. Sail to Isla de la Luna
We continue the journey to the enigmatic Isla de la Luna, home to the mythological Temple of the Virgins of the Sun (Iñak Uyu), a ceremonial center exclusively for women chosen by the Incas.

3. Return to Copacabana by boat

The Salkantay Trek with Marvelous couldn't have been better thanks to our incredible guide, Daniel. Honestly, I've never had such a great guide. Daniel is so warm, cheerful, and energetic. He wasn't just a guide, but part of our trekking family—many guides could learn something from him! Aside from that, our group was very personable, young, and motivated. The private cooks traveling with us prepared amazing food, and there was always enough of it. I've never eaten so well on a trek. Only in the last few days, when the cooks left and provided us with food at the restaurant, did the quality of the food really suffer compared to before. The accommodations were good, the sleeping bags provided were sufficient, and Daniel, our guide, tailored the route to our group's needs so everyone was satisfied.
